Stone is painted with a crude pigment made of charcoal and oil, and overlaid with linen. Using the use the weight different body parts, we press the fabric into stone. This unfolds alongside a simultaneous process: as one person presses into stone, the others press into them, asking repetitive, circuitous questions. The questioning unravels the conscious mind, opening a space in which the voices of stones and ancestors can speak through us.
